I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
